Your ice pack quits at minute twelve. The attack has hours left.

What it is

A pull-on migraine cap built around a dense phase-change gel, with a 360° compression fit and an eye panel that slides up when you need to see and down when you need the dark. Machine washable. Available as one cap, or as a two- or three-cap rotation.

How it works

You already know cold helps. The failure was never the cold — it was the thaw gap: the window where your gel pack has gone lukewarm but your head has not finished. So you get up, into the light and the nausea, and walk to the freezer again.

An ordinary gel pack dumps most of its cold in the first few minutes and then coasts. A phase-change gel behaves differently: as it changes state it gives up its cold at a steadier temperature rather than all at once, so the cap stays cold for longer instead of falling off a cliff. The 360° fit is the other half. Instead of a flat pack balanced on your forehead that slides the moment you turn your head, the cap holds contact around the temples, the sinuses and the base of the skull, and stays there while you lie down.

How to use it

  1. Keep one chilled — ongoing. Store a cap in the fridge or freezer so it's ready before you need it. No freezer is required to start using it.
  2. Pull it on at the first sign — 15 seconds. Slide the eye panel down for full dark, or up if you still need to look at a screen.
  3. Lie down and leave it on — as long as it helps. If you own more than one cap, swap to the next when the first warms through, so you never get up mid-attack.

What's included

  • 1 Cap — $59.95. One ColdLock cap with the sliding eye panel.
  • 2 Caps — $99.95. Two caps, so there is always a cold one waiting while the other re-chills.
  • 3 Caps — $129.95. Three caps for long attacks, or for a household where more than one person needs one.

Every cap is machine washable.

Who this is NOT for

This is a comfort tool, not medicine. It does not treat, prevent or cure migraine and it is not a substitute for care or medication you have been prescribed — if your headaches are new, changing, or come with vision loss, weakness, confusion or a sudden severe onset, that is a doctor's appointment, not a purchase. Skip it if cold makes your head worse, which is true for some people, or if you have Raynaud's, cold urticaria, reduced skin sensation, or nerve damage in the scalp or face. And if you want something to wear while walking around the office, this isn't it — it's built for lying still in the dark.

Common Questions

How long does the cold last?

Longer than an ordinary gel pack, because phase-change gel releases its cold at a steadier temperature instead of dumping it in the first few minutes. Exactly how long depends on your room, how tightly you wear it and how warm you run, which is why the rotation packs exist.

Do migraine ice caps actually work?

Cold is one of the oldest comforts people reach for during an attack, and most of them already keep something in the freezer. What a cap changes is the practical part: steady temperature, contact around the whole head rather than one flat spot, and no getting up to re-freeze it.

Can I still see with it on?

Yes. The eye panel slides up when you need to look at a phone or screen and down when you want total dark, and the 360° fit keeps the cold in place either way.

Does it need a freezer?

No freezer is required to start — a fridge-chilled cap is ready to go. A freezer simply gets it colder to begin with, so use whichever you have.

Should I buy one cap or more?

One is enough if your attacks are short or infrequent. Buy the two- or three-cap option if yours run long, because the entire point of the product is not having to get up mid-attack.
