You wake up with a mouth like sandpaper and a jaw that's been open for seven hours.

What it is

A pack of single-use skin-safe tape strips you place across your lips before sleep. Each strip is small, gentle-adhesive, and comes off in one piece in the morning. That's the entire product — there's no device, no app and no charging.

How it works

Your mouth falls open when you sleep because the jaw relaxes, and once it's open you breathe through it for the rest of the night. That's where the dry mouth, the morning sore throat and the stale taste come from. The tape is a light physical reminder to keep the lips together, so breathing defaults through the nose instead.

The adhesive is deliberately gentle. It is not there to seal your mouth shut — it's there to hold a default, and it releases if you open your jaw with any force. That's a design decision, not a weakness: anything strong enough to genuinely hold your mouth closed would be the wrong product to sell.

How to use it

  1. Check you can breathe through your nose — 30 seconds. Close your mouth, breathe for half a minute. If it's a struggle, put the tape away tonight.
  2. Apply to dry lips — 10 seconds. Lips clean, dry and free of balm, then press the strip on centrally. Balm is the reason most strips fall off.
  3. Remove slowly in the morning — 10 seconds. Peel from one side rather than pulling straight off, and give the first few nights a chance; the first two feel strange to almost everyone.

What's included

  • One pack of single-use mouth tape strips

Who this is NOT for

Read this part properly. Do not use mouth tape if you have sleep apnea, or think you might — that needs diagnosis and treatment, and taping is not part of it. Do not use it if you can't breathe freely through your nose, whether that's a cold, allergies, a deviated septum or chronic congestion. Do not use it after drinking, on sedatives, if you're prone to vomiting or reflux at night, or on children. If you have any heart or breathing condition, ask your doctor first. And if the idea of tape on your mouth makes you anxious, that anxiety will cost you more sleep than the tape saves.

Common Questions

Does mouth tape stop snoring?

We're not going to claim that. Snoring has several causes and only some of them relate to breathing through the mouth. What tape does is encourage the lips to stay closed, and people whose main complaint is waking up parched are the ones who tend to notice a difference.

Is it safe?

For a healthy adult who can breathe comfortably through the nose, it's a small piece of gentle tape that releases when you open your jaw. It's not safe for anyone with sleep apnea, blocked nasal breathing, or the other cases listed above, and none of that is negotiable.

Will it hurt to take off?

The adhesive is gentle by design. Peel from one side rather than pulling it straight off, and avoid using it on chapped or broken skin.

What if I need to open my mouth in the night?

You can. Opening your jaw releases the strip, which is exactly how it's meant to behave.

Can I wear lip balm with it?

No — balm is the single most common reason a strip comes loose. Apply balm in the morning instead, or well before bed and wipe your lips dry.
